TROPICAL CATERING & EVENTS WINS BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN CATERING
Cairns based Tropical Catering & Events has beaten out hundreds of contenders to win the coveted trophy for Best Achievement in Catering at the prestigious 2014 Australian Event Awards Industry Night of Nights held in Sydney on Tuesday 11th November. The 2014 Australian Event Awards is the national awards program to reward innovation and recognise excellence in the Australian Events Industry.

Tropical Catering & Events was recognised for its work on the Farewell function for Australia’s premier tourism industry event – Australian Tourism Exchange 2014 (ATE14) held in Cairns in May 2014.
The Farewell event was the finale of ATE14 and the launch pad for Tourism Australia’s new global “Restaurant Australia” promotional campaign. The goal was to promote the very best of Australian food and drink at a showcase event and leave the discerning audience of global tourism professionals in no doubt that Australia offers the best produce and dining in the world.
After taking the brief from event organiser Belle-Laide Events, Tropical Catering & Events immediately began researching Australia’s producers, providores and winemakers.
Never settling for anything but the finest ingredients, Executive Chef, Ben McCarthy brought together more than a menu: he created an epicurean feast that took the 2,000 influential tourism industry guests on an educational journey through the gastronomic highlights of our country.
The event put gourmet tourism firmly on the map and smashed every KPI set for it. Guest feedback showed that it was the most highly rated catered event in ATE’s 35-year history.
